Sham FC thanks Premier League for 'the most valuable brand mention in football history'
Five mentions of our name in one statement. No sponsor has ever paid that much. Well, no sponsor has ever actually paid that much.

Sham FC has formally thanked the Premier League after our club name appeared five times in a single statement on Tuesday, a level of exposure our commercial department has described as 'priceless, which for once is accurate'.
"For years we've had to work very hard to make our revenue look eight times bigger than it was," said our Chief Revenue Recogniser, Rex Tagwell (fictional). "Then the league just hands us five headline mentions for free. We didn't even have to top it up."
Our marketing team immediately valued the coverage at £1m and declared it at £8m.
The real-world commission found that between 2009/10 and 2017/18 sponsors of a certain real club paid around £119m in base fees, while around £830m was recorded as sponsorship but funded by the club's owner. Sham FC, being a fictional club, would like to stress that it has never had any real money at all, which makes it the most transparent club in England.
